Chatbot Functions

The UC Chatbot is your 24/7 student support companion. It's securely integrated with Catalyst, UC's student information system, ensuring customized responses upon login. The chatbot can assist with the following topics.

  • Admissions: Get information about the admission process, deadlines, and requirements.
  • Bursar: View your bill amount and due dates, along with an overview of your financial transactions
  • Registrar: Access your class schedule and find out your specific registration time for upcoming courses
  • Financial Aid: Check your current financial aid status, including awards and totals, and understand your eligibility
  • Student Advising: Discover who your academic advisor is and how to connect with them
  • Orientation: Learn details about new student orientation and what to expect.

Tips & Tricks

Before you dive into using the chatbot, here are some handy tips and tricks to enhance your experience.

  • Use a question format and ask one question at a time.
  • Keep it simple. UC Chatbot uses keywords to find your answer. 
    • How do I apply for financial aid?
    • When can I register for classes?
  • Take advantage of links and suggestions. If UC Chatbot can't answer your specific question, you'll be provided with helpful resources or contact information.
  • Use Suggestions to see suggested questions related to your question. These suggestions may phrase your question in a way that UC Chatbot can better understand.
  • To clear the conversation and log out when you are finished, click on the three circles on the top right corner and select “Clear Conversation."


Find answers to common questions to help you use the chatbot effectively. If you can't find an answer to your specific question in our FAQ, please reach out to Enrollment Services for personalized assistance. We're here to make sure you have the information you need for a successful experience.

You can ask the UC Chatbot any question you have, but using the "Suggestions" feature can help you find suggested questions that may make it easier for the chatbot to understand and answer your question. These suggestions are tailored to improve your interaction with the chatbot.

Delegates will not be able to access Catalyst information through the chatbot. They should log into Catalyst directly to access their student's information.

After you have logged in, an icon will appear at the top of the chatbot which allows you to log out should you access the chatbot from a public computer. 

The UC Chatbot is conveniently located on the four homepages of Financial Aid, Registrar, Bursar, and Enrollment Services.
